We have made it to the one year mark! Sometimes I feel like we just barely made it...Ashton has kind of had a rough first year but he got thru it!! We had a great birthday party! We kept it small and just invited immediate families (our house is too small for a big party) but it was great! Ashton was in a great mood,
he was hammin it up for everyone and he got lots of great gifts from our families.
Of course, you wouldn't be able to tell how happy he was in these pictures because when he is focused on something (like opening gifts) he takes it very seriously! However, when it came to the cake
He started off serious
but he loosened up when he knew he had an audience to entertain...
Unfortunately, the cake that mommy spent hours making was left in the frig too long and it was too hard to smash so we ended up having to give him a cupcake to tear up and he didn't disappoint! He did love the icing and the caterpillar's antenna's!
So the party was a success but unfortunately all good things must come to an end...Monday Ashton had his One year check up (which involves 3 shots) and he wasn't feeling good and by Tuesday he had full on Croup!
He was put on a steroid for a few days and a 10 day dose of amoxicillin. After about 4 or 5 days and a dance with Mimi
He started to feel better and we headed to St. Louis for Brian to work this week. Well, as our life goes, yesterday Ashton broke out into full blown hives and we found out that he has an allergy to penicillin. We have switched his medicine...and he is a mess
Lord help us!!
I have to close with a picture of Ashton before all this chaos when he was happy as a clam!!
